Как-то вот с немецкими Bewerbung-ами у меня проблем уже не возникает, а вот на английском я пока только второй раз пытаюсь. Может, мне кто-то может помочь, у кого есть соответсвующий опыт? Вот как вам такой пример?

Так британцы вроде не такие официозы, как немцы. Вот он перезвонил, сразу на имя перешел.

Да вроде говорят, вот навскидку абзац из англоязычного инета: "Your grade-school teacher was right: Not playing well with others can keep you from getting ahead, particularly at work. In a recent survey, half of CFOs said interpersonal abilities are the most important communication skill for financial professionals."

Согласна с Арчи, звучит как браться побратимы, тон письма очень уж дружественный как будто вы человека 300 лет знаете и на работу по старой дружбе идете.

А в чем это выражается и как исправить? Нету у меня чувства языка что-то вообще...

сейчас свой шаблон скопирую. Я правда не знаю вашу позицию и какие требования.
вот нашла: с сайта http://www.your-career-change.com/application-letter.html много в инете, попробуйте еще примеры поискать для вашей должности. Сейчас гляну на письмо и отмечу, что можно переделать.
Application Letter Writing Tips
Here are some great tips on composing a winning job cover letter to accompany your CV or resume:
1. Address the letter to the appropriate person by name. The biggest mistake professionals make is not taking the time to address their letter to the appropriate person, such as the recruiter or the hiring manager. Take the time to address your letter to the appropriate person; if the job description does not include a person as a contact, take a cue from the text and address the letter to the team listed as the contact. Using generic lines, such as “To whom it may concern,” is not acceptable in any form of application.
2. Know what the goal of your letter is and express it clearly, and concisely. Sell yourself in the best possible light; make sure that you sound like a confident professional. Even if you feel insecure in your qualifications, or feel that you may be slightly under-qualified for the job, put your best skills forward.
3. Customize your letter to the position you are applying for. It is very important that your application addresses why you are the best person for the job you are seeking. This includes indicating the job title in the application letter.
4. Do NOT make generic statements, or statements indicating that you might be interested in any open position with the company, as these make you appear unprofessional and unprepared.
5. Answer these two questions: why do you want this particular job, and what can you do for the company? These two questions must be addressed in your letter in order to let your employer know that you are serious about your interest, that you have considered the opportunity and how it fits with your professional goals, and what you are willing to bring to the table in order to benefit the organization you want to work for.
6. Proofread your letter, or better still, get someone else to read it over carefully. They are more likely to spot errors than you are. Errors and misspellings give a very poor impression to the potential employer.

Вообще, стиль и тон англо-саксонских писем часто менее формален, чем у немцев. В принципе, душевно получилось. Но желательно увидеть окончательный вариант перед отправкой, чтобы убрать последние "блохи". К сожалению, транслит и комментарии внутри текста мешают. Выложите текст заново, а лучше как приложение в Ворде, тогда будут видны глазные ошибки. Я бы, конечно, добавила пару слов про образование, достигнутые успехи, опыт по руководству сотрудниками, если был.

Окончательный текст я уже отправила, так как ждать нельзя было, просили быстро:) Я там ошибки вроде выловила, да и мужа попросила просмотреть. Если хотите, то выложу, но он в принципе не сильно отличается. Но мне еще много таких писать надо, так что все понадобится однозначно! Следующую попытку могу опять на обсуждение выставить. Ну и как сказали, для Faq тоже отлично, английские резюме еще не разбирались.

Вот и мне так кажется, и даже по телефонному общению можно сразу заключить, что народ душевнее.

В принципе, советы не на много отличаются от немецких. Вот что удивило, так это твой совет начинать с более общих фраз о том. В немецком варианте наоборот все дружно рекомендуют позвонить и потом поблагодарить за freundliches Telefonat. Что я и сделала как бы...

Так, теперь я совсем запуталась. Не много ли текстов? Я обычно тот же, что в мыле, копирую и в доки, не? Еще и e-mail отдельно писать?

Нет, просто effective team working and networking. Так точно говорят, я из книжки это помню:) Другие скиллз нужны, так как позиция интернацтональная и нужно perform outside the box.

many thanks это все-таки uncommon в бизнес-переписке. а заява о приеме на работу как strategic consultant имеет отношение скорее к бизнесу, чем к щебетанию в стиле sex-en-the-city. Главным образом так как неизвестно кому все это на стол попадет.

это в гостинице типа спасибки что разбудили, имхо. если уж earlier так хочется вставить, так надо и время тогда, типа for your call earlier тодаы. вопрос - зачем?

почему не вздумайте??? У нас на бизнес инглиш, вместе в МБА кариер сервисиз только так говорят писать и никак иначе по англицки.

Ну вот они пускай так пишут на своем континентальном английском местного розлива. Хвали-себя-нахваливай, но ведь не столь "в лоб". Для молодых специалистов обычно довольно названия учебного заведения, диплома, предметов специализации, общего балла/"окончил с oтличием" и успешно завершенных проектов, опубликовынных работ, выступлений на конференциях. Нет там еще такой прорвы опыта и научной степени, чтобы медаль на шею вешать.
