... Increased lung damage and worsening of the prognosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection may due to decreased ACE-2 level. 24,25 High levels of ACE-2 activities in children are thought to be protective against COVID-19. Therefore, severe disease is less common in children than in older age groups. ...

... Therefore, ACE/ACE2 balance was suggested to play a critical role in the regulation of blood pressure, electrolyte homeostasis, vascular and cardiac remodeling as well as inflammation. This balance can be deteriorated by several diseases including systemic and pulmonary hypertension, coronary heart disease, diabetes, obesity and aging

Age-related differences in the immune response could contribute to determine the spectrum of severity of COVID-19

Hypertension, diabetes, and aging have all been shown to alter ACE2 expression. [20][21][22][23] The SARS-CoV-2 virus itself also induces ACE2 shedding and downregulation after cellular entry, and ACE2 expression is also downregulated by the SARS-CoV-2 virus itself, which may play a role in the excessive inflammatory response in some patients. 24 SARS viruses have a higher affinity to ACE2 and shed ACE2 with higher efficiency than other coronaviruses, and the structure of SARS-CoV-2 suggests that it binds with higher affinity than other SARS viruses. ...

Можете конечно закидать меня тапками, но создаётся впечатление, что последний из ковидов заточен на возрастной контингент, тогда, как атипичная пневмония более поражала молодых.

К чему пропагандируют и испытывают вакцину на детях совершенно не понятно.

Considering the negative association between aging and ACE2 expression levels, the older population should actually be protected from the disease but the growing body of evidence has illustrated that this is not necessarily the case. It is likely that reduction of ACE2 may decrease the odds for infection by SARS-CoV-2 but it predisposes the elderly towards the development of severe COVID-19. ACE2 confers protection against lung injury (Imai et al., 2005), and consequently a reduction in the amount of ACE2 would also probably translate into decreased protective effects from the protein.
